Computer Infrastructure and Maintenance Cell

The Computer Infrastructure and Maintenance Cell of Faculty of Engineering is the heart of the computing facilities in this campus. The Cell takes care of imparting ICT based educational services and e-surveillance facility apart from its primary objective of managing the computer facilities and networking infrastructure.
The computer infrastructure constitutes more than 500 latest computers with printers, scanners, network printers, copiers and software.
The networking facility includes LAN, WAN for the entire campus including the hostels, with Rack servers, Cisco switches and Wi-Fi Access Points.
The campus has e-surveillance facility with many CCTV cameras installed in multiple critical spots of the entire campus.
Support is rendered for the following Educational services such as MOOC courses, video conferencing & webinars under the following programmes.

  • 'Train 1000 Teachers' programme initiated by IIT Bombay under National Mission in Education through ICT (NMEICT) since 2012
  • Quality Enhancement in Engineering Education (QEEE) programme of Department of Higher Education with IIT Madras since 2014
  • The Amritha-Versatile E-Learning Tool for Distance Education A-VIEW with Amrita University for video conferencing sessions
  • National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL), an initiative by seven Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and Indian Institute of Science (IISc) for creating course contents in engineering and science.
  • Aakash Tablets project with IIT-Bombay for education and outreach programmes through hand-held devices
